At 547 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Plantation Light to near 4th Island Bay Bridge to 1st Island Bay Bridge, moving east at 30 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, Thimble Shoals, Tue Marshes Light, Hampton Flats, The Hump, Willoughby Bay, Cabbage Patch, Sewells Point, Cape Charles Harbor, 1st Island Bay Bridge, Latimer Shoal, Plantation Light, Poquoson, Kiptopeke Concrete Ships, Dominion Pier, Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, Lynnhaven, York Spit Reef, Buoy 36a, and Hampton River Inlet. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Virginia Beach, Downtown Suffolk, Downtown Norfolk, Virginia Wesleyan University, Old Dominion University, Ocean View, Downtown Portsmouth, Norfolk State University, Norfolk, and Chesapeake around 530 PM EDT. Regent University, Deep Creek, and Kempsville around 535 PM EDT. Great Bridge around 550 PM EDT. Fentress around 555 PM EDT. Princess Anne around 600 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by these storms include South Norfolk, Rudee Heights, Carrollton, Portlock, Longview, Benns Church, Princess Anne Plaza, Sigma, Suffolk Airport, and Huntersville. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
