Flood Advisory issued June 8 at 2:41PM EDT until June 8 at 3:45PM EDT by NWS Miami FL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Florida, including the following counties, Broward and Miami-Dade. * WHEN...Until 345 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 241 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Miami Gardens, North Miami Beach, Miami Lakes, West Park, Miramar Parkway And University Drive, Hard Rock Stadium, Ojus, Country Club, Pembroke Park and Ives Estates. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Special Weather Statement issued June 8 at 2:45PM EDT by NWS Miami FL At 245 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a funnel cloud over Miami Gardens. This storm was nearly stationary. HAZARD...Funnel clouds and winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Funnel clouds occasionally touch down and produce tornadoes or waterspouts. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Hialeah, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Davie, Miami Beach, Surfside, Hallandale, Miami Gardens, North Miami, North Miami Beach, Aventura, Dania Beach, Miami Lakes, Cooper City, Hialeah Gardens, Sunny Isles Beach, Opa-Locka, West Park, and Miami Shores. These winds can down small tree limbs and branches, and blow around unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe building until the storm passes. Funnel clouds occasionally touch down and produce tornadoes or waterspouts. Move indoors and stay away from windows.
