Heat Advisory issued June 10 at 3:44AM EDT until June 10 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI * WHAT...Heat index values up to 101 expected. * WHERE...Lenawee, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties. * WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Check with local emergency management officials for information on cooling center availability.
