Flood Advisory issued May 23 at 11:45AM EDT until May 23 at 1:15PM EDT by NWS Upton NY * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southern Connecticut, including the following counties, Middlesex and New London. * WHEN...Until 115 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1145 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen over portions of the area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jewett City, Norwich, New London, Colchester, Clinton, Groton, Old Saybrook, Salem, Chester, Mystic, Waterford, East Lyme, Ledyard, Griswold, East Haddam, Haddam, Old Lyme, Lebanon, Westbrook and Killingworth. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
