Flood Advisory issued June 20 at 11:58AM CDT until June 20 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Brazoria, Galveston and Harris. * WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1158 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pasadena, eastern Pearland, northern League City, western Baytown, Friendswood, La Porte, Deer Park, Alvin, South Houston, Seabrook, Galena Park, Jacinto City, Webster, Kemah, Clear Lake, South Belt / Ellington, Greater Hobby Area, Cloverleaf, Channelview and Highlands. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Heat Advisory issued June 20 at 8:04AM CDT until June 20 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Heat index values approaching 108 degrees Fahrenheit (42 degrees Celsius) possible * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas. * WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
