Fall River at Fredonia affecting Wilson County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Fall River at Fredonia. * WHEN...Until tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 32.0 feet, Flood waters reach within 20 feet of residential homes along the south bank of river located 1 mile south of Fredonia off of Highway 96. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 28.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 32.3 feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage this evening. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Southern Wilson County in southeastern Kansas... * Until 300 AM CDT. * At 912 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... In Southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1207 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
