HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. * Locations impacted include... Terra Ceia Bay, Gandy Bridge, Old Tampa Bay, Howard Frankland Bridge, Egmont Key, Cockroach Bay, Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Courtney Campbell Causeway, Anna Maria Island, Southwest Channel, Port Manatee Reef, Tampa Bay, Hillsborough Bay, Johns Pass, Passage Key Inlet, and Longboat Key. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
