Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 8 at 9:22PM CDT until June 8 at 10:30PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS At 922 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near New Cambria to near Marquette to 6 miles southeast of Claflin, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...A 59 mph wind gust was measured at the Salina Airport at 913 PM. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Mcpherson, Lyons, Hillsboro, Sterling, Moundridge, Inman, Galva, Canton, Little River, Goessel, Chase, Ramona, Lehigh, Alden, Windom, Tampa, Durham, Lost Springs, Mcpherson Airport, and Roxbury. This includes Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 44 and 73. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for central Kansas. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

In east central Kansas, Chase. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A complex of storms will bring the potential for severe weather and locally heavy rain to parts of central and east central Kansas tonight. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
