Mississippi River At Red River Landing affecting East Baton Rouge, West Feliciana and Pointe Coupee Parishes. For the Lower Mississippi River...including Red River Landing... Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Red River Landing. * WHEN...From late Tuesday night to Monday, May 27. * IMPACTS...At 51.0 feet, All river islands along the reach from Red River Landing to Baton Rouge will be inundated. Recreational camps and river bottom farm land will be under water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 45.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 46.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Wednesday morning to a crest of 51.0 feet Tuesday, May 21. It will then fall below flood stage Monday, May 27. - Flood stage is 48.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 51.1 feet on 06/01/1961. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
