Flood Watch issued July 9 at 10:09AM CDT until July 12 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...All of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky. * WHEN...Through late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeat rounds of thunderstorms over the next several days will increase the threat for flooding. While 1 to 2 inches is forecast on average, the flooding threat is more from any storms that might sit or repeat over the same areas...where 2 to 3 times that average amount may be enhanced locally, leading to flood issues. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Flood Advisory issued July 9 at 9:09PM CDT until July 10 at 12:15AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Stoddard County in southeastern Missouri... * WHEN...Until 1215 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 909 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Dexter, Bloomfield, Morehouse, Puxico, Essex, Dudley, Baker and Penermon. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
