Flash Flood Warning issued June 14 at 3:25PM CDT until June 14 at 6:00PM CDT by NWS Midland/Odessa TX At 325 PM CDT /225 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain in On State Highway 54, 10 miles north of Van Horn, a vehicle was washed off of the road. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Van Horn and Culberson County Airport. This includes the following streams and drainages... Hackberry Creek. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
