Flood Watch issued July 14 at 1:59PM CDT until July 16 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX * WHAT...Flooding and flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Llano, Maverick, Medina, Real, Travis, Uvalde, Val Verde, Williamson and Zavala. * WHEN...Through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Considerable to locally catastrophic flash flooding impacts are likely for portions of the US 90 corridor west of San Antonio, including the southern Edwards Plateau and Rio Grande. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Intense rainfall rates and compounding effects from multiple rounds of storms will result in a dangerous flash flooding threat through Thursday. Storm totals of 2 to 6 inches are possible over the Flood Watch area with isolated amounts of 10 to 20 inches possible in the Rio Grande Plains, southern Edwards Plateau, and US 90 corridor. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flood Advisory issued July 14 at 10:43PM CDT until July 15 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bexar, Comal and Kendall. * WHEN...Until 100 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1041 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring within the advisory area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen over the past 24 hours with up to 3 inches of rain within the past 6 hours in portions of the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... San Antonio, Boerne, San Antonio Int Airport, Canyon Lake, Leon Valley, Helotes, Fair Oaks Ranch, Bulverde, Shavano Park, Hollywood Park, Cross Mountain, The Dominion, Leon Springs, Timberwood Park, Bergheim, Kreutzberg, Guadalupe River State Park, Walnut Grove, Spring Branch and Nelson City. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
