Flood Warning issued June 3 at 12:04AM CDT until June 3 at 6:00AM CDT by NWS Aberdeen SD * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast South Dakota, including the following counties, Codington, Deuel and Grant. * WHEN...Until 600 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1203 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Watertown, Rauville, Waverly, Kranzburg, Strandburg, Troy, School Lake, Bullhead Lake, Watertown City Park, Pelican Lake, Lake Kampeska and southern Lake Traverse Reservation. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
