Flood Warning issued June 3 at 12:04AM CDT until June 3 at 6:00AM CDT by NWS Aberdeen SD * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast South Dakota, including the following counties, Codington, Deuel and Grant. * WHEN...Until 600 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1203 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Watertown, Rauville, Waverly, Kranzburg, Strandburg, Troy, School Lake, Bullhead Lake, Watertown City Park, Pelican Lake, Lake Kampeska and southern Lake Traverse Reservation. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
